Office 2024 for Consumers: Available October 1

Microsoft 365 remains the premier way to access the latest versions of the productivity apps millions of people rely on daily to turn ideas into reality and tackle tasks efficiently. However, we understand that some customers still prefer a one-time purchase option, which is why we’re excited to introduce Office 2024 on October 1, designed for consumers and small businesses. Office 2024 offers updated, stand-alone versions of familiar apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook for both PC and Mac. Here’s a closer look at what’s new in Office 2024:

Enhanced Performance and Speed

With Office 2024, finding what you need is easier and faster. Outlook’s new search improvements help you get better results when looking for emails, files, people, or events. Excel’s performance has been optimized to handle multiple workbooks more smoothly. Mac users can also enjoy greater customization in Outlook, with the ability to personalize swipe gestures using a multi-touch trackpad or Magic Mouse.

Improved Content Creation Tools

Creating compelling content is now more intuitive. In Outlook, the built-in Accessibility Checker helps ensure your emails are accessible to all recipients. PowerPoint offers Cameo, allowing you to embed a live camera feed into your slides, while the Recording Studio enables you to easily record narrations, animations, and transitions. OneNote delivers an enhanced inking experience with a full-screen, pen-focused mode, letting you use the entire screen for note-taking.

Simplified Data Analysis

Excel introduces new functions that make working with text and arrays more efficient. You can now paste pictures directly into cells or use the IMAGE function to insert images without disrupting your layout. Dynamic arrays in charts make visualizing data easier—automatically updating when new data is added.

Availability and Pricing

Office 2024 is available in two editions:

Office Home 2024 for $149.99 USD, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for one PC or Mac.

Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99 USD, which adds Outlook and allows commercial use of the apps.

Both editions will be available globally through retailers and on Microsoft.com starting October 1, 2024.

For businesses with five or more users, Office Long Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) 2024 provides a flexible solution that can be deployed alongside Microsoft 365, with a shared set of tools for managing hybrid environments.

Office 2024 is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 11, and the three most recent versions of macOS. A Microsoft account and an internet connection are required for installation and activation.
